MAC ändern? das geht? Die ist doch fix, oder

Mac ändern geht fix - sogar unter Windoof relativ simpel, wenns der Treiber unterstützt in den HardwareProperties und sonst einfach in der Registry nach "NetworkAddress"="" suchen und eintragen funzt wunderbar - nur sollte man aufpassen, dass man nicht 2 gleiche MacS im Netz hat.

Meines Wissens nach ist die MAC auf der NIC eingebrannt und damit fix vorgegeben. Nur bei teureren Karten kann die MAC per Software geändert werden.

Und dass die Hardware-MAC-Adresse mit einem Registry-Key verändert werden kann, das halte ich für ein Gerücht!

allerdings geht es nur, wenn der treiber es unterstützt.

temporär gefakt.

du mußt dir das ganze so vorstellen, die mac addy wird temporär im hauptspeicher deines rechners abgelegt, im sogenannten arp-cache (arp = adress resolution protocol). während der auflösung der ip addy nach der mac, greifen entsprechende progs auf diesen cache zu. dieser unterliegt zu bestimmten zeiten einem refresh. so daß das fake immer nur bis zum nächsten refresh gültig ist.

Für WinXP bringt es mir nichts, und temporär auch nicht . Ich hab jetzt einfach die Netzwerkkarte ausgetauscht.

Für Linux unter Alpha hab ich das gefunden:

This situation can be remedied by taking over the MAC address as well. This is already possible for many ethernet cards. All one need do is, e.g.:

ifconfig eth1 hw ether 00:00:C0:0C:29:D0

It's done via a simple ioctl; c.f. the ifconfig man page for more details. Works fine here. Be careful to pick an unused hardware address for the service interface. Good examples are those starting with 0xdeadbeef, or replace the last two bytes with the host part of the IP address, e.g.

192.168.20.156 -> 00:C0:87:A3:01:56

Ein man ifconfig ergab:

hw class address
Set the hardware address of this interface, if the
device driver supports this operation. The keyword
must be followed by the name of the hardware class
and the printable ASCII equivalent of the hardware
address. Hardware classes currently supported
include ether (Ethernet), ax25 (AMPR AX.25), ARCnet
and netrom (AMPR NET/ROM).
