ich wollt euch mal fragen was der unterschied zwischen debian und ubutnu ist.

Was ist an ubutnu besser als an "THE ONE AND ONLY " Debian ?

"Besser" ist subjektiv und daher kann ich Dir die Frage, welche Distri besser ist und warum nicht beantworten. Bitte gehe in Dich, informiere Dich und suche für Dich die Antwort. Wenn Du sie gefunden hast, lass sie uns zukommen.

ad Gnome: Also ich hab kein Problem mit der Vorgabe von Gnome als Desktop

The default desktop environment for Ubuntu is Gnome. You will find all the KDE packages you could want in the universe component of Ubuntu. We don't at this stage have the resources to put the same level of post-freeze work into the KDE packages as we put into the Gnome packages.
