Überaus interessanter Beitrag bzgl. Fly! II und Fly! III

I can tell you that I have always encouraged the teams to "not re-invent the wheel", but the producers and designers of Fly! were looking at serious limitations if they did not significantly re-write large portions of Fly! to create Fly! II.

Rich did not want to just make small incremental improvements upon Fly! as was done with other flight simulators in the past, so to move forward some serious work had to be done. In 20/20 hindsight, it would have been great had we just done an incremental update - but if we had done that, some of the features in FS2002 wouldn't be in there right now

Let's just say that Fly! III will use as much of the Fly! II technology as possible, but things like the horizon need to be rewritten, and some of the ground system. Those kind of changes make me nervous... but if we don't do those over again, we will have a lot of the same ##### as we get now...

Zum einen bringt er hier den wahren Fehler des Fly! II ( "das Rad neu erfunden" ) zum Ausdruck, zum anderen spricht er einen Nachfolger sehr deutlich an. Zumindest für mich ist das recht überraschend...
