"NAVTEQ data such as road network information, ferry landings, railroads, detailed water information (e.g. oceans, rivers, lakes, harbors, etc.), parks, golf courses, and recreational areas, enhances the "Flight Simulator X" user experience. A visual representation of these types of data extends the realism of the simulation by:

-- Optimizing the modeling of the real world with nearly 200 land and water classifications, over 20 environmental and cultural regions, 12 monthly seasons and 7500 texture tiles (e.g. farm, city, forest, lava);
-- Bringing the world to life, as the data integrates and automatically generates ground vehicle traffic, railway simulation and water-based cargo and leisure ships (including types of vehicles, traffic congestion, accidents, direction of travel);

Mal sehen, wie das ganze dann im Vergleich zu AROE, UT-Europe aussieht.

in meinen Augen ist das eine reine Werbeveranstaltung von Leuten, die davon träumen, was sie alles gemeinsam mit Microsoft im neuen FSX verwirklichen könnten. Keine Bilder - nichts.

Ein besonderer Genuß auf dieser Seite sind allerdings die anschließenden Postings verschiedener anonymer Leute mit Kommentaren zu dieser "Ankündigung".

Ich glaube nicht, daß diese Firma in Verbindung mit dem FSX eine Rolle spielen wird.

Ich glaube Du unterliegst einem Irrtum. Microsoft nutzt diese Daten bei der Programmierung des FSX. Es ist kein Addon.

Moin Leute,

ich habe das schon verstanden, denn ich habe die Seite von Anfang bis Ende gelesen (und auch kapiert).

Sicher verwendet Microsoft diese Daten nicht erst im FSX, sondern es besteht eine langjährige Zusammenarbeit.

Ich meine nur, daß die Aufzählung der Möglichkeiten, wie aktiver Zugverkehr, pendelnde Fährschiffe und diverse andere Schmankerl zwar technisch möglich wären, aber von Microsoft bestimmt nicht in diesem Umfang umgesetzt werden. Dann würde nämlich vermutlich ein normaler PC für die Umsetzung nicht ausreichen.

Daher meine Behauptung, daß dieses Statement etwas dick aufträgt und zum Schluß von den Verfassern ja auch selbst relativiert wird:

Man erwartet und hofft und glaubt eben, daß sich der FSX in dieser Form entwickeln könnte/sollte/müßte, wenn da nicht die liebe Politik wäre, die mit ihren Sicherheitsbedenken bestimmt viele Pläne wieder über den Haufen wirft.
