The other measure of performance is the quality of the signal after passing through the switch and cables. Since the keyboard and the mouse are both digital devices, there is either no signal degradation symptoms or the signals are incorrect. One of the main advantages of digital systems is that loss of signal integrity is minimal in comparison to analog signals. So, no problem with the signal quality of the mouse or the keyboard. Signal degradation may be apparent with the video output which--with the exception of the new flat panel DVI which uses a digital interface--is analog. Without going into much detail, analog signals are very susceptible to electromagnetic interface and other electrical influences. <u>If the cables or the switch are not of high quality, the image displayed on the monitor will be severely degraded.</u>

Nachtrag: Je höher deine Auflösung und deine Bildschirmfrequenz ist, desto eher kann es mit einer schlechten Box zu Problemen kommen.

Wenn du z.B. in der Arbeit einen 17"er mit niedriger Auflösung hast und zuhause eine 19" oder 21" mit hoher, dann macht sich die schlechtere Signalqualität zuhause natürlich viel eher bemerkbar.
