mozilla mail & PGP

PGP wird standardmäßig nicht für mozilla mail/thunderbird unterstützt.
es gibt zwar ein plugin namens enigmail, allerdings ist zum einen die installation etwas kompliziert, zum anderen bin ich mir nicht sicher, obs wirklich das kann, was ich benötige.
zum einen steht in den specs:

Enigmail can encrypt/sign mail when sending, and also decrypt/authenticate received mail. It can also import/export public keys. Enigmail supports both the inline PGP format, and the PGP/MIME format (RFC 3156), which can be used to encrypt attachments.

widersprüchlich dazu steht jedoch in den install-notes (bei standard-download, punkt 2):

To use Enigmail, you also need to have a recent version of GnuPG (Gnu Privacy Guard) installed on your system. We currently recommend GnuPG v1.2.4
If you need help installing GnuPG on Windows we have put together an installation and configuration guide.
PGP is not supported. See the Help page for more information on using Enigmail.

also funzt das jetzt oder nicht? hat jemand erfahrung damit? bzw. gibts eine alternative dazu, um PGP mit mozilla zu verwenden?

Falls deine Frage noch nicht geklärt sein sollte:
Also ich benutze seit ein paar Wochen Mozilla Thunderbird mit Enigmail! Vorher muss man aber gnuPG installieren, da es sich bei Enigmail nur um eine Art Oberfläche handelt und die eigentliche Arbeit von gnuPG gemacht wird.

Bis jetzt funktioniert das Ganze nicht schlecht. PGP ist zwar optisch schöner und die Funktionen sind übersichtlicher, allerdings muss man auch löhnen, wenn man alle nutzen möchte.

Das importieren des PGP-Schlüsselbundes hat ohne Probleme funktioniert. Ich bin mir aber nicht ganz klar darüber wie sich die PGP und Enigmail+gnuPG auf einem System vertragen.
