HI "Leidensgenossen",

In FS the audio panel is "fux0red" so that either COM1 or COM2 is always "listening" - or both (but that means you need to press the "BOTH" mode button.
Looks like COM1 vs COM2 audio works as a toggle - either COM1 or COM2 - no matter what you try, one of them is active in any case. Then again, the audio panel does not even simulate transmit mode, just listening. On real audio panels you can have everything off, or you can even listen to COM1 while accidentally transmitting to COM2 and wondering why the ATC is not responding.. Not that it is a good feature though.I suggest you use led buttons and just build it like the FS2004 audio panel, and wire the leds to the fsuipc offsets, so it works like the one in FS. Not strictly realistic, but the audio panel is not very much used anyway unless you fly in VATSIM or such, and only when Squawkbox v3 is released there is not much support for audio panel stuff. Our audio panel, using toggle switches: ![]() Simulator in action, looking hard at the Jeppesen landing chart and trying to find the airfield.. ![]() ![]() More pics, some of the sim, some of our aviation club, some of just planes around there: http://tigert.gimp.org/gallery/MIK Oh, and since someone will ask anyway: * FSBUS for radios and switches (www.fsbus.de) * Simkits for instruments (www.simkits.com) * A Cessna 150 fuselage for the cockpit * Collimated display donated by Finnair, originally from a retired DC-10 sim * 1.5 years, probably over 2000 man-hours * Yes, we are very happy about it, and it was worth the sweat! ![]() Huge greetings to Dirk and everyone who is sharing their inspiration and inventions, without you this wouldnt be possible! ![]() Best, //Tuomas |

Both funktiniert.) I know how the AUDIOPANEL has to work. I only want to simulate the built in FS9 Audio panel. Nearly everthing is working. I also can toggle from Com2 to Com1. But in the other direction it doesn`t work.(from Com1 toogle to Com2). I have checked the proper setting in the fsbus software many times, but no chance to get it working. (i`m sorry for my bad englisch, but it`s a long time ago) In real airplanes (i fly myself up to little 2-mots, ppl/ifr)there are many different Audiopanels available), but i think the FS9 audiopanel is working good enough for me) Thanks again kindly regards Markus |

and by the way,
GREAT JOB YOU HAVE DONE. one question: Are you using FSBUS for the servos working inside the instruments or have you used the SIMKITS Masterboard ? Greetings from LOWL Markus |

Markus, thank you. I think my rusty Deutsch and your very OK english make us understand each other very well
![]() I think when I tried we had to turn off the COM2 audio first, then turn on the com1 audio. It was strange indeed, they have made the logic a bit weird in FS. There is another similar issue by the way - turning off the alternator turns off also the master battery and you lose electric power - which shouldnt happen in a real plane either. Or maybe it was that turning off battery but leaving alternator on also cut off electric power - which is not the reality either. Cant remember for sure, but nevertheless it is acting strange. Thank you for the comments. We have a team of maybe 4-5 people who have built this at our aviation club, so it is not just me, but we truly are very happy with the result. We are using the simkits CCU board for the instruments (fsbus doesnt do the fully-rotating servos, and since we purchased the instruments, the price of the CCU was reasonable considering there are good, working calibration tools etc - it was a time saver and made sense. Radios however are with Fsbus, and we are just waiting for Dirk to implement the "when avionics has no electricity, the 7-segment displays turn blank" -feature so our radios turn "off" when electronics are switched off ![]() I think we can do it with the future fsbus software which will include the programming logic. I think you might be able to do some hacks for the audio panel as well. Now, as the last job there is the big thing of making everything start from the power button, and making it simple to shut the simulator off - a lot of the people are not good with computers, but they know how to fly, so we try to "hide the computer" from the simulator so they dont have to worry about that part.
