2ND REPORT! FS2002 - I AM STUNNED
I am just back, from spending the entire day with the great guys and gals of the FS2002 team, a whole new team, one that no simmer has ever seen before... a team that is there to listen, tell all and not keep secrets, not dodge questions and just really cares to get the word out now, and to unleash their excitement on us, today at Fanstock.
And.
And.
They're are not lying. They are telling 100% the truth when they told me I am going to love FS2002. I am not lying. Dispite what some of you may think, we were not bought off, bribed or brainwashed. I saw the machines. I saw the clock speeds. I saw the video cards. I saw FS2002! I flew FS2002 for 2.5 hours. I did what I wanted, with any plane I wanted, where I wanted. NOTHING KEPT SECRET.

They let us see it all, ask what we wanted and showed us the answers to our questions.
With a full report to type up when I get home, I just can not wait longer to tell a little.

Test system
PIII800 / GEForce 2 (32meg) / 256 ram
FS2002 framerates = average of 32.0
with autogen buildings and ground objects near the 70% distance level. Visibility maxxed out to 120 miles..framerates still 30.0. Yes. It is real. I am telling you 100% the truth.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHH
IT IS REAL!!!! HIP HIP HOOORRRAYYYYYY IT IS REALLY TRUE.... FS IS REBORN. IT IS THE SMOOTHEST,
MOST FLUID, STUTTER FREE, AND I SAY STUTTER FREE FLIGHTSIM EVER.... EVER... AND THAT IS WITH
100 OR MORE HOUSES, TREES, HILLS, MOUNTAINS, ALL IN VIEW... ALL IN VIEW AND FRAMERATES OVER
25! YES. IT CAN BE DONE! IT HAS BEEN DONE AND YOU ARE ALL GOING TO SEE FOR YOURSELF THIS FALL!!!

Now, I am calming down just a tad. This news that FS2002 is already the sweetest flight simulation experience I have ever seen is as big a newstory as aliens have landed on earth, there has been a nuculear war averted somewhere, and NASA reveals the Aurora spyplane. Oh, and as big as Sasquatch visiting us right here at the MS offices. That big. Worldwide big.

Look.. all the folks there are honest, they know FS2000 can not run well on a PIII500. Yet, FS2002 will do leaps and bounds above that..and give you the virtual cockpits, smoking tires, dirty planes, clean planes, authentic european villages, pine trees in the Pacific Northwest, palm trees in Florida, flashing strobes that light up wingtips, or rolling tires that slow down gradually in the air when you tap the brakes.

I flew FS2002 for 2.5 hours and framerates in Juneau Alaska, Boston, Aspen and Seattle were all greater than 25.0 with full max detail, autogen more than 70% and yes, cumulous clouds in the sky.

It is all true folks, I am honestly telling you the truth. this was the most exciting day in my life next to my wedding day and birth of my wonderful son who is 2.

More to come tommorrow!! I have to go talk simming more with the others!
It's all true. I have 30 exclusive screenshots I took while flying FS2002 that I will be posting on FS.Com for you all to see. So stay right here for more. And yes, I got pics with frame rates too..just so you know I am not hallucinating!
