Ja, früher war das sogar mal Freeware...(Arrestorcab). Wer es noch hat(oder findet): es funktioniert auch im FS2004!

Dort kannst Du auch 2 Videos downloaden, das erste mit etwa 16 mb, das zweite dann hat schon etwa 150 mb. Da läuft einem doch wirklich das Wasser im Munde zusammen.

Wie man sieht geht das im MSFS mit maximalen Realitaetseinstellungen auch ohne Fanghaken ohne das der Vogel Schaden nimmt wenn man in der Lage ist ein par Knoten ueber die Stallspeed zu bleiben ohne runterzufallen und die Laenge des Traegers voll ausnutzt
Fuer den Anfang wuerde ich dir aber erst mal kleineres Geraet empfehlen Fieseler Storch (Fi 156) sollte bspw. ueberall landen koennen (20m Landestrecke)

der Schöpfer des Carriers Waikato hat noch eine andere Möglichkeit vorgeschlagen, nachdem der Entwickler des auf dem Träger in früheren Versionen enthaltenen Fanghaken- und Katapult-Systems dieses nur noch kommerziell verwertet (siehe Abacus).

Leider hatte und habe ich nicht die Zeit, diese Methode mal auszuprobieren, aber ich füge den entsprechenden Text aus der readme (gemeint ist die Option 3) mal bei:

Unfortunately a lot of water has gone under the proverbial bridge since my version 3.0 for fs2002 was released. Richard Hogen who produced the excellent Arrestor Cables program which complemented my aircraft carrier has gone commercial and sold the rights to his software to Abacus .. So really you NOW have only three options with my new version aircraft carrier for fs2004.

Option One .. You download my new freeware carrier and also purchase Flight Deck 3 from abacus and use my .dat files with Richard Hogens new version of Arrestor Cables. I think his software costs about $US30 and perhaps you have to buy the new version of FSUIPC as well which will cost an additional $US 20 but dont quote me as I have no idea ( I dont buy flight sim addons on principle ) OR!

if you cant afford it!! then

Option Two is./.. if you were lucky enough to have downloaded a freeware version of Arrestor Cables ( the last freeware version was 2.2 I think ) which was still available late last year and you also have a freeware version of fsuipc ( version 2.83 or higher .. which should be definitely still around ) then no worries !!!this new carrier will work fine with both these utilities ( read entire text below to see how to configure arrestor cables 2.2 ) .. OR


Option 3 .. If you dont have the utilities for Option 2 then you are going to have to forget about having arrestor cables on this carrier. However all is not lost!! as to be brutally honest i had a devil of a job catching the cables anyway. I firmly believe the arrestor cables are really for the hard core flight deck simmers who are more than likely are going to purchase the commercial software anyway.
However if you are just a casual user like me who just wants to play around with the carrier there are many freeware carrier landable aircraft available at sites like www.avsim.com and www.flightsim.com. These aircraft have adjusted the spoiler parameters so that as soon as you land on the carrier .. you push the spoiler key and they bring you to a dead stop in a hurry !!!. they have adjusted the braking strength in the air. file to an extremely high value which tends to emulate the effect of arrestor cables on the aircraft.
ALso they are useful for taking off as well .. What you do is activate spoilers and then take the throttles up to afterburner and then when you release the spoiler you should be able to blast off from the carrier without the need of a catapult!!( you might need a bit more runway though )

Vielleicht probiert das ja mal jemand aus, ob man mit Hilfe geänderter Spoiler-Settings wirklich Starts und Landungen hinbekommt.

ja, diese Möglichkeit gibt es, die Spoilertaste wirkt wie eine "Superbremse", ist aber nicht gerade leicht damit eine gescheite Landung zu fabrizieren
ich habe noch die alte Freewareversion von Arrestorcables, aber weiß nicht ob man sie hier "anbieten" darf evtl dann per Mail
