Fuer Seti gibts kein Installationsscript.
Tipp:
Nach dem entpacken einer .tar.gz IMMER
README
und falls vorhanden
INSTALL
INSTALL.distributions_bzw_osname
lesen.

naja nach dem README hab ichs gestern schon mal versucht, aber da hatte ich schon 14Stunden Arbeit hinter mir...

heute sinds "nur" 12... mal sehen...

werds nochmal versuchen...

Ich hab das im Bulletin Board von SETI gepostet - vielleicht findet Ihr den Fehler :

I am new to Linux and i seem to need an idiotproof set of instructions to get
Seti to run @ RH9...

Isn´t that right?:
-DL Seti (the version mensioned above)
-extract the tar to a subfolder of /root
-start a terminal window
-cd subdirectory
-now I type setiathome

Thats the way it is done in the readmes..., isn´t it?

Da das Subdirectory wahrscheinlich nicht in $PATH ist (anzeigen mit echo $PATH):

./setiathome


Das ist ein Punkt und ein Slash, damit er es im aktuellen Verzeichnis ausführt.

Oder hab ich dich jetzt missverstanden?

Wusste nicht, dass man ./ vor das Programm schreiben muss um "im aktuellen Folder zu bleiben".

hi allseits
habs noch immer nicht geschaft
./configure scheint der bauer nicht zu kennen?! (auch vom richtigen verzeichnis aus)
auch alle anderen tips bringen mir leider nichts, da er wenn man nur "make" usw. eingibt, zuwenig infos hat bzw was fehlt
nur so zu info.. ich versuch nur divx4linux zu inst. *g*
vielleicht hat das ja jemand von euch inst. und kann mir sagen wie er das gemacht hat?!
