![]() I think BCD rotaries work too. Are there any special requirements, does it need to be BCD or HEX code, there are different ones..? How does one wire a BCD switch? As type1 rotary?
Some of those BCD switches are pretty small and thin, so it makes an appealing choice for gauge knobs that one can just glue/attach on top of the instrument panel that has a TFT behind. Tuomas |

![]() Hi all,
here´s probably some slight misunderstanding: the MRP series from Knitter are not BCD coded. They are plain rotary pulse switches (Miniature Rotary Pulse = MRP)with 24 pulses / rev. BCD coded Switches are used to set the values from 1 to F (=1 to 16) There are BCD coded thumbwheel switches available with engraved numbers on the wheel. They are very fine for setting the transponder code or the radio frequency, but cannot be used as "Rotaries". Just my 2 cts Best regards Peter |

![]() Hi Peter
So far i understand, the BCD must have 16 position. Do you now how to connect to the FSKEY. Regards Finn

![]() Hi Finn,
the BCD coded switch can have max 16 positions, but could well be 10 only. (0 to 9). The switch has 4 pins plus common and is BCD coded (1, 2, 4, 8 ) in itself The numbers on the switch are generally in dec. In FSBus you just tell that it´s a BCD switch and the software will decode the BCD coded signal to dec. Eg: 1 Dec = switch representing the 1 is closed (all others open) 2 " = " 2 " " 3 " = " 1 and 2 " " 4 " = " 4 " " 5 " = " 1 and 4 " " 6 = 4 and 2 7 = 1 and 2 and 4 8 = 8 9 = 1 and 8 10 (A) = 2 and 8 B = 1 and 2 and 8 And so on until 1and 2 and 4 and 8 = 16 dec = F hex Hope this helps. Best regards Peter |

![]() Hi Peter
Thanks again. But to be sure, are you then connect the BCD like 4 switsches to the FSKEY? Sorry about all my questions regards Finn

![]() Hi,
yes, the BCD switch is considered as 4 individual switches connected to FSKey. May be that there is a limitation that you may not mix rotaries and "normal" switches within 1 row. If I recall it correctly there was no such limitation in the 1.x FSBus version. For FSBus 2.02 I can´t tell for sure as I haven´t tried it yet. But why not trying it out. Can´t damage any thing though. Hope I could help. Best regards Peter |
