2. The 568 has an 8-way hat, the older model only a 4-way.
3. The 568 uses normal fixed calibration. With the older model, you had to move the stick through its full range every time you started Windows to let the stick calibrate itself. If you didn't, you'd come into a sim way out of calibration and the aircraft was more-or-less uncontrollable unless you could get through the full range without flying into the ground.
If you can manage it at all, get the 568 or a FighterStick. You'll be a whole lot happier with it.
