Also ´, wenn ich schon so schön beim posten bin, möcht ich acuh gleih noch ein Prob dazustellen, was gerade erst vor 10 minuten meiner wenigkeit passiert ist.

Also ich hab da so ein Tyan Trinity 400 Mobo mit Bx Chipsatz.
Echt nicht schlecht, nix onboard, 6 PCI und ein ISA.
gefällt mir und hab ich in einen zweitrechner eingebaut.
so jetzt kommts aba!
Die Bios Version ist von irgendwann 1999 und ich will natürlich ein neues, also runtergeladen von tyan support site und dann steht da noch dabei, dass man den award flasher runterladen soll, weil ja mien mainboard ein award bios besitzt. bzw. laut website besitzen soll, das tuts aba nicht, also schnell das AMI flasher tool runtergeladen. Win mit alter startdisk ohne autoexec und config hoch gefahren den ami flasher gestartet, flashdatei ausgewählt und dann hat er gemeldet dass alles gut gegangen ist und hat gesagt ich soll nen key zum reboot drücken.
gesagt getan, aba jetzt kommt nix bild und nix gar nichts mehr.
kein bieps, absolut nix ausser nur dass die Festplatte hochnuckelt und CD-Roms auch.

Jetzt find cih irgendwie dass mir doch Tyan das Board austauschen soll, wenn die nicht einmal die richtigen versionen und beschreiungen ins netz stellen oda????

Und die werden dir vermutlich sagen, daß du einen Fehler gemacht hast.

Würde aber an deiner Stelle bei Tyan ein bisschen "Gas" geben. Wäre doch gelacht, wenn du nicht einen neuen Bios-Baustein von denen bekommen würdest, oder ;)

How to Clear the Hardware CMOS & Reset Password

Why? You will need to clear the CMOS anytime you FLASH upgrade the BIOS or when you forget your password to enter the BIOS for making settings.

How? When clearing the CMOS, it's NOT done by pulling the lithium battery or DALLAS chip off of the motherboard for a short period of time. Instead, there is a jumper on the motherboard that clears the CMOS. The jumper varies for all Tyan motherboards, so you will need to see which jumper applies to your motherboard. (Please refer to your motherboard manual for jumper location.)

Here we go...step by step.

Turn the power off
If you have 2 pins, short the two pins with a jumper for 10 seconds or so then pull the jumper and return it back to the default position.
If you have 3 pins, then move the jumper pin from default postion, jumpered 1-2 and move over to pins 2-3. Wait for 10 seconds or so, then move back to default position 1-2.
Turn the power back on and you should get an error message indicated by 2 beeps to run the setup for CMOS.
You will need to make the BIOS settings at this point and you're done!

NOTE: for ALL Tyan Pentium II/III LX, BX, and GX Intel Chipset motherboards, prior to clearing the CMOS, you must disconnect the AC power cord. Otherwise, the CMOS will not get cleared. You do not have to do this for other Tyan motherboard models with the Intel VX, HX, TX, and FX Chipsets.

ja hab ich eh schon probiert, aba hat nix geholfen, das resettet ja nur das bios auf die default einstellungen.
Es hilft mir aba leider nix, weil ja das neue Bios nicht funzt.

Wenn Du auf http://www.tyan.com/support/html/bios_support.html gehst, wirst Du sehen, dass es lt. Tyan kein Trinity 400 mit BX-Chipsatz gibt! Sondern nur ein Trinity 371 oder eben das 400er mit VIA-Chipsatz. Hast Du da was durcheinander gebracht? (Zu AMI-AWARD: Die Tyan-BX-Boards scheinen alle ein AMI-BIOS zu haben, meines, das Tsunami 1830 hat jedenfalls ein solches - und das Flashen war problemlos!)

Solltest Du wirklich das falsche BIOS geflasht haben, geh mit dem richtigen (!!!) BIOS auf Diskette und Deinem BIOS-Baustein (oder dem ganzen Motherboard) zur Fa. Print Technik Stumpergasse 34 1060 Wien. Tel. 597-34-23-0 (vorher unbedingt anrufen wg. seltsamen Oeffnungszeiten!), die koennen das beheben!

Du kannst es natuerlich auch bei Tyan Deutschland probieren:

Leut Hersteller (I-Side) gibts meins nur mit VIA-Chipsatz und Award.
Aba des stimmt net.

Hab sogar Handbuch und alles beinander und da steht auch drauf Trinity 400

PPGA-370 Intel Celeron
Intel Pentium II/III
Single Processor
ATX Form Factor

(des is einBoard wos den 370er und den Slot 1 noch drauf ham)
und weiter drin steht des mitm BX CHipsatz

und aufm MB is auch der BX drauf
und Ami drin *g*

weißt du obs sowas auch in OÖ gibt (so ein Geschäft was noch die Bausteine dazu hat, bzw. recovery machen kann?)

Das Handbuch, das dabei ist, ist wurscht. Um ein Board zu identifizieren, ist wichtig, was am Motherboard selbst steht (ein falsches Handbuch darf eigentlich nicht, wird aber manchmal dabei sein...).

Ich nehme also an, dass Du das Trinity 371 mit dem BX Chipsatz hast. Um das zu verifizieren, solltest Du vielleicht doch kurz bei Tyan Deutschland anfragen, die sagen Dir sicher, wo genau am Board der Aufdruck mit der Typenbezeichnung ist.

Nein, leider, ich weiss nur die Fa. Printtechnik in Wien...

Das habe ich auf der Tyan Seite noch gefunden, vielleicht hilfts:

Recovery Method for Tyan Pentium II / III models with BX or GX chipsets, BIOS version 1.12 or higher ONLY:

Requirements: File to program (unzipped) on a clean floppy disk with no other files. Keyboard used must be PS/2 (you cannot use USB or wireless).

Procedure:

Download the file to program and rename the file to amiboot.rom
Copy the renamed file, "amiboot.rom", to a clean floppy diskette with no other files on the diskette. DO NOT MAKE IT BOOTABLE!
Next, power off system and place the diskette with the renamed file into the floppy disk drive.
While holding the "Ctrl" and "Home" keys down together, turn the system power on. NOTE: ther will be no display during this procedure.
Once the A: drive is initialized, let go of the keys. Afterwards, the floppy disk drive will program the new BIOS version. This process takes approximately 10-15 seconds.
The system will indicate programming completion of the BIOS with a beep or a series of beeps. Thereafter, it is safe to turn off the system.
Clear the CMOS.

So, und noch eine letzte Sache, das geht halt nur, wenn der Computer startet, hoffentlich hast Du das vor dem Flashen beruecksichtigt:

BIOS Versions may be difficult to distinguish on some motherboards. This guide will assist you in determining the BIOS version on your particular BIOS.

All TYAN motherboards use either the AMI or Award BIOS. The BIOS version can be found at bootup just below the left hand corner logo. Ignore all version numbers that do not start with TYN. Tyan BIOS versions are stated at startup at the following line:

TYN [motherboard model] Vx.xx MM/DD/YY

x.xx is the BIOS version number,
motherboard model reflects the motherboard you have, and
MM/DD/YY is the release date of the BIOS.
