"Hi.
Two days ago I invited a friend of mine, who happens to be a B777 Captain in Lauda Air, to come and test fly the PMDG B777- 200.My friend is not an experienced simmer, so I had prepared a flightplan from EDDF to EGLLfor him, but I wanted to let him do all the preflight work in cocpit, and he had no problem with that. Every vital switch and knob worked as it should, and he felt like he was in the real aircraft.(But he told me it is not normal to have all knobs and switches turned off when yoy enter the aircraft for a flight. It is only after the aircraft has been to maintenance that they are all turned off.) Afterwards he prepared the FMC for the flight, and he found it to be very good too. The INOP pages and lines were not vital for the flightplanning. He then armed the A/T, VNAV and LNAV and took off, flew manually to 400 feet and engaged the AP. The aircraft flew like a real one. The aircraft followed the programmed flightplan , but at TOD we got a message that it was not able to go to the next altitude, so he changed to FLCH, put in the altitude manually and decended as he would have done in real life in the same situasion. Then he made an Autoland at RW27 R at EGLL. He was very impressed, and said that by flying this aircraft, and studying the manual you will be able to learn the most essensiel things about this aircraft, how it work and how to navigate. And from his point of view it was "As Real As It Gets.."

PS. He was missing the Lauda Air B777 200IGW , but he promised to come back and fly more if I could get "his" aircraft.
