Voodoo3 3000 PCI & DFI P5BV3+ Motherboard mögen sich nicht

hat mir mein Wochenende versaut und mich vor Freunden sehr blamiert.

Wenn ich die Bildschirmauflösung von 640x480x16 verändere, kommt nach dem Windows Logo ein schwarzes Bild, dann folgt eine 3 minütige Ruhepause, (anscheinend denkt der PC über Intel Kompabilität nach) und dann kommt folgendes in zufälliger Reihenfolge:

* Monitorbild in der gewünschten Auflösung/Farbtiefe

* oder "ihre Grafikkarte ist nicht richtig konfiguriert..."

* gar nix, n-fache Wiederholung des schwarzen Bildes

Von 3dfx gibts nur banales:

"14. I'm getting a blank screen after the Windows logo. How do I correct this?

Generally after installing the drivers for the Voodoo3 2000, a black screen will occur if the system is not handling the Bus Mastering properly. This happens on some of the Socket 7 AGP motherboards. Contact the motherboard manufacturer for all the latest drivers for the motherboard and install those drivers. There should not be any further issues once the drivers are installed."

Habe alle Treiber die 3dfx, DFI und VIA zu bieten haben installiert, nix hat's g'holfen. Incl. Fdisk und Format. Es wurden auch verschiedene Monitore probiert.

Was soll ich machen ?
Gibt's noch BIOS Tricks etc. ?
Hat jemand ein SUPER7 MB und eine Voodoo3 PCI funktionierend ?
Kaufe ich ein ALI Motherboard (Gigabyte GA-5AA, AUS P5A-B) ?
