witch kind of modem did you get?
I know that some netgear-equipment get confused when you use the same MAC-Adress two times - that means on WAN an LAN together. It's just a guss, but you can try to change the MAC on your Laptop and see what happens. I don't use UPC-Digital but on normal Chello-Accounts, UPC just register a particular MAC and that's it. If it don't works then let me know.
