Wobei .mov-Dateien nicht nur "Movies", also Filme, beinhalten können sondern alles mögliche.
Das QuickTime-Format ist schon relativ alt und dient als Container für alle möglichen Multimedia-Formate: Bilder, Töne, Videos, Animationen, Text Eine .mov-Datei kann also z.B. Bilder im jpg-Format enthalten, die in Form einer Diashow dargestellt werden und mit Text in Form von Untertiteln abgespielt werden kann. Siehe auch http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quicktime
