Modemtreiber für XP installieren

Hallo an alle!

Ich hab folgendes Problem:

Computer alt: Win98se---Internetverbindung EasyInternet for free UTA funktioniert mit Diamond Supra Max USB Modem.

Computer neu: WinXP:---selbe Internetverbindung mit selbem Modem funktioniert nicht.

Nach endloser Suche im Internet habe ich rausgefunden, dass der Modemtreiber für XP schuld ist, obwohl es sich automatisch installiert. ausserdem habe ich folgenden Rat gefunden:

Download the driver then unzip to your chosen directory. Uninstall the modem if you currently have it installed with a non-working driver, and then search for new hardware, it will find the modem, direct it to the unzipped files when it asks for a driver (locate them manually) and then it should work. You may need to restart the computer to complete the installation.

Aber ich kann nirgends hin directen, denn XP meint, da wäre keine Info für die Hardware und installiert immer automatisch den mit XP mitgelieferten Treiber.
