Problem mit zusätzlichen IDE Controller

Hy Leute

hab mir vorgestern einen PROMISE Ultra 100 TX IDE Controller gekauft ... hab das teil auch gleich eingebaut in mein (fast) voll belegtes Elitegroup K7S5A ein... am IDE 1 am Board hab ich eine 40 Gb Seagate platte und eine 80 Gb WD platte. Am IDE 2 Hängt ein NEC 1300A DVD Brenner und ein Liteon 52x36x52

jetzt wollte ich auf den PROMISE IDE Controller eine 40 Gb IBM und eine Maxtor 40 GB Platte hab einfach mal eine platte reingeschmissen (natürlich auf Master) er sagt mir aber egal bei welcher Platte schreibt mir der Controller das er keine Platte findet und das das BIOS nicht installiert werden konnte (oder gefunden wird) weil er keine Treiber hat.

Das Gerät wurde aber ohne probleme beim ersten start von Windows Xp erkannt und wird auch im Hardware-Manager als Betriebsbereit eingestuft.

Hat wer eine ahnung was los sein könnte?

also zuerst startet das Computer Bios und sucht die onboard IDE Controller... dann kommt das PROMISE Bios und dort steht dann eben " Ultra 100 TX2 Bios is not installes because there are no drivers attached"

und er zeicht mir an von D0 - D3 "not detected"

generell ist der Controller im Windows angeführt und steht ja auch auf "betriebsbereit" ..sprich .. ohne konflikte.

Das Windows den Controller ekennt glaub ich gern, nur wenn der Controller keine Platten findet wird Windows diese wahrscheinlich genau so wenig finden.

Also muss ein grober Fehler in der Hardwareconfig vorliegen (Kabel nicht richtig angeschlossen, nicht richtig gejumpert).
Andere Möglichkeit: Du musst etwas im Controller BIOS einstellen, damit dieser die Platten kennt (Sorry, ich hab da keine Ahnung, wiel noch nie einen separaten IDE Controller unter den Fingern gehabt).
Sonst fällt mir zu dem Thema auch nix mehr ein. Solche separaten IDE-Controller verhalten sich für das System ähnlich wie SCSI-Controller, d.h. nur wenn diese ein bootfähiges Device wie eine Festplatte (CDROM zählt hier nicht, weil über andere Mechanismen gebootet wird) finden installieren sie das Adapter BIOS im RAM.

hmm hatte das auch mal hatte einfach keine platten erkannt
habs dann ausgebaut neu rein nd siehe da es ging.

is das ein raid controller? wenn ja, erstell mal zwei stripesets mit jeweils nur 1 platte, dann sollten die platten gefunden werden...

Solution: The only reason that the Ultra100 BIOS will not install is if it doesn´t detect a HDD. If you don´t have a HDD connected to our card, connect one. If you do, check the HDD jumper settings and cabling. If your HDD is from WD, and it´s the only device on the cable, remove ALL the jumpers from the HDD. If the problem still exists, contact tech support with the following information. What are the HDDs that you´re using with the Ultra100? What is the jumper setting on each HDD? What is the version of the BIOS on the Ultra100? Make sure the HDDs on the Ultra100 are defined as ´´None´´ or ´´Not Installed´´ in the CMOS. Are the cables that you´re using with the Ultra100 18´´ or less?

******Try switching the PCI slot that the Ultra100 is in.******

Try resetting the configuration data in the CMOS. This is usually an option in the PnP section of the CMOS. The only available settings for this option will be ´´Enabled´´ and ´´Disabled´´. Set it to ´´Enabled´´, save and exit, and reboot.

1) anderes Kabel
2) andere Platte
3) anders gejumpert
4) anderen PCI Slot

aber es geht noch immer nicht *grr*

any help out there ?
