Booten von SCSI-CDROM

Hallo Leute,

Ich versuche schon seit einiger Zeit mein System dazu zu ueberreden von CD zu booten. Bisher nur mit teilweisem Erfolg.

Folgende Ausstattung:
Motherboard Asus P2B (Bios 1010)
SCSI-Contr. Symbios PCI-SCSI 53C875 (Bios 4.15.00)
CDROM Plextor 32x

Beim Versuch von CD zu booten ergibt sich folgendes Bild:

Win98-CD & Suse-CD
==================
Symbios Bios-Meldung:
Bootable CD located, emulating CD-ROM as Floppy Disk A:
Rechner bootet von CD und alles funktioniert einwandfrei

NT4-CD & Win2k-CD
=================
Symbios Bios-Meldung:
Bootable CD located, using non emulation mode
Danach kommt nur mehr die Meldung:
***Press a key to reboot !***


Die Bios-Beschreibung zum Controller sagt:

The Symbios SCSI Bios provides support for the Bios Boot Specification (BBS), which allows you to choose which device to boot from by selecting the priority.

The Symbios SCSI Bios supports boot initialization from a CD-ROM drive.
The five types of emulation are:
No emulation of disk
Floppy 1.2, 1.44, 2.88 Mbyte emulation disk
Hard disk emulation


Hat jemand aehnliche Erfahrung gemacht bzw. weis wo der Haken liegt? Ich bin fuer jeden Hinweis sehr dankbar.
