The hardware CDU is a complete part incl the USB keysend. The only thing you need is a adaptor to get the lights of the keys burning. So far i know the output needs to be arround 2,3 volt.

If you also have the software of Project Magenta CDU it will reconize it direct and you up and running.

(of course you need a screen in your cdu that is not incl. when you buy it but i have used for my mcdu's 2 tft screens of the sony playstation 1. You can connect that than to the vga cart or via the tvout if you have that as well.) All information about this lcd part can also be find on the forum of the flightdecksolutions site.

If you have any more questions please be free to ask and i will try to answer them. ( iam very pleased with the 2 mcdu's i have of FDS)

@bwr024

wow, good informations, thanx a lot so far. my last question for today is, if this CDU will also work with the PMDG 737NG without having the software of project magenta ??? and if i understand it correctly, i will get the adaptor for the key lightning and the screens also on flightsolutions webpage ?!

greets

No thanks always try to help everyone here if i can.

I am not sure if the PMDG one will work the problem is maybe that they have writen there own software for it and than it will not match with the rest but i dont use it so i cant tell you. I know in the past i also had problems with communication when i used a 3 part software of planes... all i know is that it works great when you use the PM cdu software. But maybe someone else knows that here?

Your other question.. the package contane the hardware cdu inside there is a pcb already wired up and the keys are illuminated automatic when you power your adaptor on it ( just pay attention about the volt what i mention before)

To let the keys also send keystrings Peter provide a small pcb with it that you on one part connect to the adaptor so the cdu light up and on the other side you use a USB cable ( also in the package) that you plug into your computer. The computer automatic reconize the new USB cart.

You already can than if you have the software of PM use it and see the results on the screen you run PM last step will be than the monitor behind your cdu as i also mention before.

If you are at that part let me know because there are some details to be done to get it all working proper but we can help you out as well in that

here a pictures ones again of how it looks now here...

Sorry, just noticed your question also about the adaptor... that is not included but you can buy that in a electroshop or at conrad.de or anything like that. The price is i think arround 15 euro

So please keep it in english to make the communication possible and beside that also give those other non german ppl that look in this forum the option to follow it as well.
