Partitionieren und welche Platte für OS ?

Hab eine neue 60 GB Ibm HDD gekauft und win 98 se aufgesetzt, nun wollt ich das ganze mit Partition MAgic 7 noch partitionieren das haut aber einfach nicht hin .
Fehlermeldung im DOS ist "error 2005 lost clusters detected" dann kommt wieder win und nix ist passiert.
Hab schon scandisc intensiv probiert hat aber nix gefunden
Was kann ich da machen?

Ausserdem hab ich noch meine alte Platte eine Seagate Barracuda 3 mit 7200u/min, die ich vesehentlich im DOS formatiert hab, kann ich auf der die Daten wieder herstellen oder sind die für immer weg ?

Zu guter letzt wollt ich noch fragen ob ich vielleicht die Seagate als Platte für die Betriebssysteme nehmen soll und auf die IBM nur Daten legen soll oder ob ich w2k einfach auf die IBM dazuinstallier und die Seagate verscherbel .

eigentlich sollte man vor dem installieren des betriebsystems partitionieren. ich trau den ganzen programmen nicht. den fehler kenn ich leider nicht. die daten kannst du nur wiederherstellen wenn du mit der platte noch nichts gemacht hast.
welche platte schneller und daher besser für das bs ist weiß ich leider nicht.

Ranish Partitions Manager damit solltest du den Fehler beheben können, wenn du dir nicht ganz sicher bist, was du machen sollst, poste einen Screenshot

@gaelic: Normalerweise gings mit PartitionMagic immer einwandfrei, weiss auch nicht was da los ist. Was meinst Du mit "wenn du mit der Platte noch nichts gemacht hast" ? Ich hab sie nach dem Partitionieren ausgebaut und so liegt sie jetzt herum, naja vielleicht geht ja noch was...

@enjoy2: Ich hab hier einen Screenshot, vielleicht siehst Du da einen Fehler oder kannst mir sagen wie ich das jetzt am besten machen soll.

Solution: Error 2005 One or more lost clusters are present.

Often, this error can be resolved by running ScanDisk or CHKDSK on the affected drive. If this does not work, however, there are several other possible causes and related fixes.



Cause 1: Some programs (such as QEMM) set the volume bit on files they create. This results in an illegal file type.


Fix 1: To fix this error:

a. Find out which file has the volume bit set.

b. Copy the file to another drive.

c. Delete the original file and replace it with the copy.



Cause 2: This error can occur when you run ServerMagic on a NetWare 5.0 system and perform operations on a FAT partition. This problem is caused by a NetWare NLM that writes to the disk while ServerMagic has the disk reserved.


Fix 2: To avoid this error, type UNLOAD NWKCFG.NLM at the console prompt before loading ServerMagic. If you continue to receive this error, down the server and delete the following files from the C:\NWSERVER directory: SERVCFG.000, SERVCFG.NBK, SERVCFG.TMP. For more information on these files, please refer to document 2942146 on the Novell support site.



Cause 3: This error is frequently caused by outdated SCSI controller drivers.

Fix 3: The error usually disappears after you install the latest drivers for your SCSI controller.




If this error persists after you have applied the recommended fixes, please send the following information to PowerQuest Technical Support:

- A Debug report (see PowerQuest Solution PR163, "Running a Debug Report").
- A PARTINFO report (see PowerQuest Solution PR94, "Running a PartitionInfo").
- The information outlined in PowerQuest Solution PR164, "Information Needed for a Trouble Report."
- (If you are running Windows Me) The VFNSTDBG.TXT file located in C:\Program Files\PowerQuest\PartitionMagic 6.0\Win9X\VFD.
- A copy of the contents of the Master Boot Record captured with WRPROG.EXE (see PowerQuest Solution PR1391, "Instructions for Using the WRPROG.EXE Utility").

wenn ich das richtig lese, lass mal Scanddisk, oder Chkdsk laufe, hoffe der Fehler ist dann weg

Danke Dir noch einmal für die Mühe, find das sehr seltsam. Ich werd glaub ich das alte Partition Magic 4 installieren damit hats immer geklappt. Vielleicht legts ja an Verasion 7.

Scandisc findet auf jeden Fall nix.

Hallo Iolaos,
warum partitionierts Du nicht einfach gleich auf der DOS-Ebene (geht mit WIN98SE) mit fdisk??
Da gibt´s keine Probleme, ich hab mach das auch immer so.
