AIRBUS Sidestick

Hallo, wollte fragen ob es eine exakte Replika eines Airbus-Sidestick zu kaufen gibt?
Ich meine nicht die von Flighdecksolutions, sondern ein schon fertiger usb/gameport plug an play joystick.
Falls nicht frage ich mich warum eigentlich nicht?!
Bei den vielen Joysticks die es gibt, wäre das doch kein Problem, oder?

Nothing wrong with the sidestick of FDS. You can see the result here after some adjustment for the RED button and the switch.. iam very pleased with it.

Hi simmer,
looking at your pic of the joystick, you see some wires coming out of the stick shaft, belonging obviously to the buttons.
But what about an axis control ?
May be you can tell us, how you control the axis, would be very interesting.

Simple...

Just put it on top of a joystick..

(take the top part off the joystick and there is a hole inside the sidestick so you can put it on each other. Arround it i need to have a boot that in this case would have to be from a renault 9.. arround 1985 or so ( most difficult part to get) But i know FDS is also going to make them for the Sidestick so maybe that will be the most best option.

The wires you see will be connected to the pcb of the joystick so you can program the button and switch as well.

It's really a nice solution but I still hesitated because of the price...
Sometimes I have one eye which is happy and the other is sad:
FDS is probably the best factory for stuff like that but obviously the only one in the web and because of that they can put the price where they like to put it ^^

Hello Lukas,

I am sorry to say but i do think you see this wrong... First of all you have to match a certain price also to the quality you get for it. Something that is for me and maybe for more people also important... Beside the quality you also get something that match to that what is close like or even a copy of the real thing.

And of course everyone is free to dicide what they prefer and what they want or can spend to build there own cockpit. I choose to get it as real as possible and FDS is for me in this case the best way to build my A320 cockpit. If i see the result so far for example of my sidestick, iam really happy with it and for 39 US dollar, you pay for it, i cant say to much for that what you also get for it.

That is also why i do think it is wrong to say that FDS would hold there price high... that is incorrect.. FDS is not working like that. If you would look at the forum of FDS you can see that the products manly grow together with the help, input and request of all the builders and FDS in this case can make it or create something in a way a builder wants to have it.

Lukas, dont misunderstand my lines here wrong but all i try to explain is that it wouldnt be right to put FDS just like that in a wrong spotlight... it is just a choise you make how you want to build your cockpit and what you choose to build it with and that would be the same for the choise in the electronics or software you going to use.

Do I see that correctly that you just paid 39 dollars for the sidestick?
The complete sidestick?

As far as I can remember they wanted to have much more than that price!

I didn't want to put FDS in a wrong spotlight...just wrote what it looks like!
Course we'll need some money to realize a homecockpit solution but prices about 200-300 dollars seemed something exagerated?!
And I have big respect on the high quality products of FDS!

Yes that is correct Lukas...

The only thing you have to do yourself is to make the button and the switch in it and of course mount it on your own joystick....

But there is a good tutorial of HOWTO on the FDS page as well for that

I managed to do it so everyone else also can aswell

Hi folks,

mounting the nice and fancy sidestick to a joystick hardware is a good idea, but finally the whole thing looks only perfect with the original grey rubber cuff between the sidestick and the joystick hardware.

Has anybody an idea where to get these grey rubber cuffs?

There are 2 options at this moment....

1 is to find a car renault 9 out of arround 1985 and use that one it seems to fit..

2 have a moment of wait FDS is going to make them as well so you will have beside the stick also the rubber for it
