gentoo 2004.1 first boot - last boot

Ich bin kompletter Gentoo Neuling.
Insgesamt hab ich mich grad mal ein paar Tage mit RH9 auseinander gesetzt. Bin also Neuling.

Nach 6 Stunden "Arbeit" ist es mir gelungen das System mal zu installieren. (universal-cd, stage3 packet, gentoo-sources, genkernel)

also wirklich die simple Methode :-(

Ich schaffs trotzdem nicht zu booten.
Ich bekomme beim boot folgende Meldung:

attemp to access beyond end of device
01:00: rw=0, want=4171 , limit=4069

danach komme ich in eine sogenannte Busy Box

Hat jemand irgendeine Idee woran das liegen könnte und wie ich das beheben kann?

Ich bitte um rasche Hilfe ... das System steht und ich brauchs heute Abend.
