![]() Servus,

My password doesn't work! To change your password settings (add or remove a password): Open ZoneAlarm Pro, Go to the Overview panel, Go to the Preferences tab, and Click the Set Password button. Note: In order for any new settings to be enforced with a password (this includes setting a new password), you must do one of the following: - Step 1: Click the "Logout" button from the Configure panel - Step 2: Stop and restart ZoneAlarm Pro, or reboot your computer. To remove a password: Simply leave the New Password field blank. ZoneAlarm Pro may request a password for changes until you reboot, but the new password will be blank - simply click on the box to go on. If you have a password problem, or can't remember your password: The only way to remove a password without being able to access it is the following: (Please note that this will remove your program permissions and Local Zone settings, so you may want to make note of them. However, re-establishing them is a simple process - you will be prompted again for program access for all the applications that you use to access the local network or Internet. - Step 1. If you are running Windows 95, 98, Me, or 2000, reboot your system into either Safe Mode or to a Command Prompt. The method is determined by your OS, but most systems will boot into safe mode by either pressing F8 at the beep or holding the CTRL key during bootup. For more information on rebooting in Safe Mode, click Start, then Help. Click the Search tab and type in "Safe Mode". Double-click "Start Windows in Safe Mode" for the instructions. - Step 2. Open the Internet Logs directory (in 95/98/Me this will be "C:\Windows\Internet Logs", in NT and 2000 it will be C:\Winnt\Internet Logs), where you will find a file called "iamdb.rdb" and a file named after your computer with the ".ldb" extension. Delete both of these files. - Step 3. Reboot your system. If you are running Windows NT and cannot delete these files, try the following from an Administrative account: (If you do not know how to do any of the following steps, click Start, then Help for more information) - Stop or Shut down the Truevector services. Then delete the files. - If you cannot stop the TrueVector service, try setting the service to start manually instead of automatically, then reboot. If this works, you should be able to delete the files. - If you still cannot remove the files, try reinstalling ZoneAlarm Pro using the original installation file. - If none of this works, then you may need to restart your machine from an NTFS boot disk. For more information on how to do this, check the Microsoft online support system: "" Danke Trottzdem für alles, =)
