Winows 2000 und HP Deskjet 890C

Es will mir nicht gelingen, meinen Drucker HP Deskjet 890C mit den Windows2000 eigenen Treibern zu installieren.

Die Installation wird immer mit der Meldung:

Die Treiber wurden nicht vollständig installiert !

abgebrochen.

Leider gibt es auf der HP Homepage nur Treiber für NT 4.0

Habe auch schon versucht, den ParallelPort auf Normal und ECP umzustellen, was auch nichts brachte.

Unter Win98 und Win Millenium läuft der Drucker auf denselben Rechner einwandfrei, allerdings mit HP eigenen Druckertreibern (HP Toolbox).

Kann mir jemand weiterhelfen?

There is no need to download a driver from the Web site if you selected a printer link above and were brought here. The most current driver is already integrated into Windows 2000 and it is already on every Windows 2000 PC. Follow the appropriate instructions below to install the correct printer driver using the Add Printer Wizard.

Local printer
If the printer is hooked directly (parallel) to the computer, follow these instructions for standard installation of the appropriate printer driver.

Click Start, Settings, then Printers.
Double-click Add Printer.
Click Next.
Select Local, then click Next.
Select Port (usually LPT1) then click Next.
Choose HP from the Manufacturer list.
Choose the printer model from the printer list, then click Next.
Select Yes if this printer is the default printer, or select No if this printer will only handle selected print jobs. Click Next to continue.
Leave as Do Not Share at the Printer Sharing Window and click Next.
Select No to skip the test page then click Next.
Click Finish to complete the installation.
If asked for a Windows disk, insert the appropriate Windows or PC Recovery disk and follow the instructions on the screen. Once the driver has been installed, it will be listed in the Printers window (Start, Settings, and Printers).
