Hallo, ich nochmal.
Aufgrund Deiner frage habe ich eben nochmal ins Squawkbox 3.0 Forum geschaut, und siehe da, Joel hat gerade erst einen ausführlichen Überblick über den Stand der Dinge gegeben:
Zitat:
Over the last month I have implemented better plane position interpolation, and various protocol enhancements that will both decrease the overall bandwidth needed and increase the fidelity of plane position updates. I'm really pleased with the way this is turning out. Some further enhancements are still possible, but the way it's working now is really great.
Right now I am focused on core UI. I have completed the latest iteration of the connect dialog and am working on the plane select dialog. In conjunction with the new generic model set system that I have proposed, selecting which aircraft, airline and livery you are flying will be a greatly improved process. It will have its own dialog that will make selecting the right plane easy (in SB2 it's a drop down with a huge list in the flight plan dialog).
After that I will move onto other core UI functions, such as options, the ATC list window, the main text output window and chat windows.
After much of this UI work is complete, I plan on posting screenshots, and if I can figure it out, movies that will demonstrate the new plane interpolation stuff. Watch for that.
Still to do beyond all that:
- flight plan filing
- weather
- voice
- installer
I am delaying voice until as late as possible in order to integrate with the new voice technology that if all goes according to plan, is not far off. You may have read some about that on this forum and on the simflight.vatsim newsgroup.
I am delaying weather until the very end because the atmospheric and weather models have been overhauled in Century of Flight and I want to wait until I get my beta copy to see how this might impact the way SB3 handles weather in general.
I will not even venture to guess a release date. As I have mentioned in the past, I have a young family and a very demanding day job, and development on SquawkBox falls further down the list in terms of priorities in my life. That being said, I'm as anxious to see it released as you are. A demo is planned for the VATSIM conference this summer in Frankfurt.
I hope this answers your questions.
Joel
