Warum nicht einfach YaST die Arbeit machen lassen? Du kannst einfach eine Installationsquelle für KDE 3.1 hinzufügen:

be sure that the kde 3.1 is the first source (button up/down)
Start Yast: add/remove software, you can select now kde 3.1 packages
