firmware gibts seitens seagate keines AFAIK
Hier eine offiziele Stellungnahme vom Support Seagates
The Barracuda ATA IV was designed for optimal performance in desktop
systems. Because of the optimization for this environment, the
performance in some RAID 0 applications is less than ideal. The
performance in random access reads or writes is among the best in its
class. However, when configured in RAID 0 where long sequential reads
are the norm, the optimization for the desktop environment negatively
affects the performance. We are investigating a solution that would improve the performance in RAID 0 without degrading performance in desktop systems.
If a solution is found, it will be made available. In the meantime,
the problem can be overcome by installing the drives on separate channels
or separate controllers. While this may not be feasible in all
situations, it is one method. At this time, there are no plans for a firmware
change for this issue, however, we are always working to improve our
firmware, and this is an area we are looking at very closely for future
products.
It is recommended to install each drive for a RAID as a stand-alone
master on each ATA channel for best performance though.
