Für eine einzelne Netzwerkkarte empfiehlt sich:
http://packages.debian.org/testing/net/etherconf.html
das ein schönes Interface hat. Hol es dir mit apt-get aus testing.
Oder du lädst das Modul mal testweise per Hand: "modprobe rtl8139" (wenn es die verbreitetste Realtek ist).
