Schau mal in der Datei /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 was in der Section Monitor für hsync und vsync Werte drin sind. Durch Verändern dieser kannst du dich dann als root dem Optimum nähern!
(Am besten natürlich, du hast die Optimalwerte irgendwo in der Monitordoku stehen etc..)
