b.) Das ist normal, SuSE stellt in der rc.config (oder dort wo) ein, daß RPM einmal am Tag die Datenbank akualisiert, damit sie konsistent mit dem tatsächlichen Zustand des Systems ist.
Kannst du, solltest aber nicht, im yast ausschalten.
