__________________________________________________ __________
NIC on SyGate Client(s) running Linux or Windows 2000 for LAN Access
IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (Static IP)
Subnet: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (Same Subnet)
Gateway: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (SyGate server IP)
DNS: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (ISP Recommended DNS only) XXXXXXXXXXX

The server and client machine must be able to PING these addresses in order
to function properly. Click the Start button, Programs, and Command Prompt
or MS-DOS Prompt.
1) SyGate server internal IP address
2) SyGate server external IP address
3) SyGate default gateway
4) ISP DNS listed
5) 192.41.60.149
6) www.sybergen.com

Do the PING tests on the server first to verify all connectivity.
Then do a ping test on the client.

From your client computer, can you PING SyGate server's IP address? If not,
check your LAN configuration and connection.

From your client computer, can you PING 192.41.60.149? If not, check you
gateway setting (configure this for SyGate server's IP address).

From your client computer, can you PING www.sybergen.com? If not, check
your DNS setting (configure this for SyGate server's IP address or ISP's
DNS IP address).

If the clients pass the test, SyGate service is running properly already,
double check your browser setting.

On your client computer, open Internet Explorer 5 and click Tools, Internet
Options. Select the Connection tab and verify that Never Dial a Connection
is selected. Next, click on the LAN Settings button. If there are any
checkmarks enabled, remove them from all of the checkboxes. You will not
need to check any setting in this area. Click OK to close the Local Area
Network (LAN) Settings and then click OK to close Internet Options. Exit
Internet Explorer, and then open up Internet Explorer once again.
Determine if your client computer can access the Internet through the
SyGate server.

Sincerely,

Technical Support
Sybergen Networks, Inc.

Für Linux und W2k, DNS nicht Server sondern ISP, sollte eigentlich für XP auch gelten.

Hoffe das wars.
