Das Timeout zum editieren sollte mal auf 24 Stunden erhöht werden...

Nach Reserche anhand der Starthilfe (Danke für den Wikipedia-Link) bin ich auf folgendes gestoßen:

Damit ist es klar: Der Floppy Kontroller erfährt die Datenrate und kann daraus die Kapazität der Diskette berechnen.

Und weswegen HD nicht als DD formatiert werden kann?

Damit wären die Fragen beantwortet: Es gibt gar keine Erkennungsmöglichkeit im Laufwerk, sondern im Kontroller-Chip.
