Westland hat in den SeaKing schon 1970 ein ausgesprochen potentes AFCS "Automated Flight Control System" eingebaut. Das Teil kann neben Höhenhaltung und Kurs auch automatischen Schwebeflug und, den automatischen Übergang vom Reiseflug in den Schwebeflug und retour.
