Installation:
You must copy the entire Mideast folder from CD DISK #2, into the scenedb\Easthem folder, if you're currently caching this scenery area. Then you must change the entry in the scenery.cfg file for the Mideast area, including the flatten switch:
[Area.038]
Title=Mideast
Local=scenedb\EASTHEM\Mideast
Active=TRUE
Layer=38
Flatten.0=292,N26,E32 20,N26,E33,N25 30,E33,N25 30,E32 20
You must observe the layer number, in this case, 38. These numbers are for FS2000 Pro's default location in scenery.cfg. Your numbers may vary. After this, you must go to the scenedb\Easthem\Mideast\Scenery folder (where you just copied all the files from the CD, if required), and disable file M5160551.bgl by renaming it, or deleting it. This is the file that is causing the default altitude problems. Fortunately, this file only covers two airports in Egypt, Luxor and Asyut (this airport has problems with its scenery also, with or without M5160551.bgl). The norm is that many airports are affected by a typical "M" prefix BGL file. Until Microsoft releases the SDK for FS2000, and/or releases a patch for the many altitude errors throughout the simulator's BGL database, we have to live with it.
Other work by me:
FS2KDT40.ZIP
GETVIS18.ZIP
And many others.
