Bei der DC-8 z.B. gilt das:
Zitat:
Use the crab method during the approach until just before touchdown. When over the runway, lower the upwind wing and apply opposite rudder pressure to keep the aircraft line up with the runway centerline. The aircraft should touch down on the upwind wheels, with sufficient bank angle to maintain zero drift. The maximum wing-down angle to avoid striking the outboard engines is approx 9° (7° DC-8-62) with the landing gear struts half compressed and ejectors/reversers extended.
Do not attempt to make a smooth landing by holding the aircraft of the ground, or to hold off the downwing wheels.
During high crosswind conditions, it may be necessary to use a combination drift correction/wind-down technique.

Im FS funktionert das mit den DC-8's von HJG und den DC-6 von calclassic tip topp.
