Hi

Obwohl mit den Texturen von Adam etliches klar besser geworden ist, gibt es halt noch immer Stellen mit Sandcharakter. Ich habe Adam darauf angesprochen, hier seine prompte Antwort:

Hi Herbert,

Thank you for your kind words and for pointing out to me something that I had completely missed - the persistence of sandy textures in the Alps.

I have identified the textures which are causing the problem and they are named 'semi-desert shrub' (landclass value 51). If you use the Tmfviewer that comes with the FsX SDK you will see that these textures occur all over the world and so of course in the US. I balanced the textures to work in the US where (hopefully) they look alright. Unfortunately, these textures are used in a few places in the Alps and what this means is that I can't really do anything about them. If I change them to blend with the general alpine
scenery this will have a huge and unwanted impact in the US and elsewhere in the world. The only way, therefore, to resolve the problem is to change the landclass assignments to something more realistic. Cloud 9, for example, do this with their X-Class series of landclass products. I have their product for Europe but I haven't had a chance to explore it thoroughly yet.

The best news is that Peter Wilding who produced Ground Environment for Fs2004 is working on a new environment programme for FsX and that hopefully will deal with all the issues that people are having with the scenery textures.

I am sorry I can't fix the problem you have identified.

With regards,

Adam.
