Trudeln in X-Plane, ein Mythos? Spin=Trudeln
Ok, so I took 8.50 default C172, modified its airfoils to match the post stall behaviour with my findings, and set custom radii of gyration from real world data.
The post stall behaviour is undoubtedly different. Now it can develop spins:
.if stalling during a turn (even with no rudder, but keeping full back elevator);
.if applying full rudder and back elevator before stall;
Its spin dynamics are very similar to what I've seen on several videos of Cessnas spins.
Once the spin is fully developed, it will sustain without rudder input (but need full back elevator).
Two issues:
.The airspeed in the spin stabilizes on 95kts, a value that is probably a too high.
.The spin ceases very quickly as soon as the elevator is released.
I attached the modified aircraft and airfoils.
Could you try it and tell me your impressions?
P.S. Make sure your frame rate is not too low.
