File Description:
This is a Fly! II SDK code sample meant for programmers to demonstrate some custom functionality available within the Fly! SDK. It is not necessarily meant for end users, as it is a very simplified version of what could become a more extensive, configurable SDK module. It is assumed that the reader is familiar with C/C++ code and the Fly! SDK to get proper use out of the included files.Quickgen is a sample Fly! II SDK module that demonstrates how you can generate on-the-fly scenery that can be inserted into the Fly! visual scene and automatically removed (when appropriate) through the SDK system. This sample demonstrates how to intercept the signal to place generated scenery for a single tile, query the tile for it's ground type (dense forest, mixed brush, etc.), then place a random number of trees of the appropriate type into the tile. There is no limitations on trees -- Fly! reports up to 96 distinct tile types (defined in the file sdk.h in the ETerrainType enumeration) including urban, tropical, European, farmland, mountains, forest, etc. Appropriate models for each type could be generated as appropriate.
