Hab eine Ati Radeon 64 Mb DDR gekauft und bin grad dabei die Installationsdoku zu lesen. Dein Problem ist bereits dokumentiert (inklusive Workaround !):

Desktop gamma settings not restored when exiting fullscreen D3D games
This issue affects RADEON products using driver version 4.13.7072 and 4.13.7075 under Windows 98 and Windows ME.
If gamma settings are changed for the display within a fullscreen D3D game, the correct gamma settings for the Windows desktop may not be restored upon exiting the game.
Opening the DISPLAY PROPERTIES panel and selecting the "ATI COLOR" tab under the ADVANCED options of the SETTINGS tab immediately restores the proper gamma level for the desktop.
ATI Software Engineering has been advised of this problem and is investigating. Any updates will appear on this page when they become available.
