Standard

Single Drive Array Failure Recovery Method:

SmartCache and SmartRAID IV - If you do not have a native Storage Manager for your OS, then boot to a DOS floppy and execute the DOS Storage Manager.

SmartRAID V and SmartRAID VI - If you do not have a native Storage Manager for your OS, then reboot your system and enter SMOR using CTRL D.

Use Storage Manager or SMOR to identify the SCSI ID of the failed disk drive. Storage Manager uses color coded "flags" to identify the Array status. A RED flag or a BLACK flag will be placed on the suspect disk drive ICON.
Replace the suspect drive with an identical model replacement or one of the same or larger capacity as the suspect disk drive. The replacement disk drive needs to be set to the same SCSI ID as the suspect disk drive it is to replace. Also verify that termination on the replacement disk drive matches how the suspect disk drive was set.
* SmartCache IV & SmartRAID IV - Use Storage Manager to "Rebuild" the array. Load the Storage Manager utility and then switch to the "Logical Configuration View" within Storage Manager. Select the array LSU ICON that contained the failed disk drive. The Array Information window will contain a "Rebuild" button. Select this button to start the rebuild operation.

SmartRAID V and SmartRAID VI - Boot the system and enter the CTRL D for SMOR. Select ALT R for RAID and select "Rebuild".
