": To all of you Primax desperados out there! I’ve got a solution for the Primax 4800 (direct) on Windows XP! It worked for me anyway on XP pro.

: Download the following files:
: 1. Twain_32.DS from http://www2.driverguide.com/uploads/...s16/38080.html
: 2. primax4800.exe from http://www2.driverguide.com/uploads/...s18/31042.html
: Instructions:
: 1. Double-click and Install the primax4800.exe
: 2. Copy the Twain_32.DS into the following folders of your system: (Probably only one is needed, but to be on the safe side…possibly you only have one of those folders)

: a. C:\WINDOWS\Twain32
: b. C:\WINDOWS\Twain_32

: 3. Restart your computer
: 4. Start a photo manipulation program or even Word, and see if the scanner appears when you try to scan. Don’t look in the scanners and cameras control panel, you won’t find it there!
: If it still doesn’t work try the following:
: Download generic scanner module.exe from http://www2.driverguide.com/uploads/...s12/21401.html and install it. If it says that dll xxx is in use and can’t be installed, click ignore and continue the installation. Restart your computer and try to scan."
