Dazu brauchst du nicht mal Javascript.
Wenn ich dich richtig verstehe willst du ein Suchfeld wie bei google haben.
Das müsste sich mit einem <form> bewerkstelligen lassen.
Du kannst es aber natürlich auch mit JS machen.
