Hi Stephan,
versuchs mal damit:
Problem: Whenever I try to run adventures within FS2000, the adventures won't load and there seems to be continuous disk activity on my hard drive.
Solution: An option to "cache WAV files" has been selected when you installed Flight Simulator 2000. This option is turned off by default. Turning it on will cause Flight Simulator to make a temporary directory on the hard drive and cache all 25,000+ wav files. This option is available in Flight Simulator to allow users to cache Microsoft Flight Simulator adventures which have been on the CD... so they will run from the hard drive. This option is totally unnecessary with ProFlight adventues... since the WAV files are already installed to the disk drive. You can either re-installed Flight Simulator 2000, selecting the default option of "not to cache adventures" or you can change the option in the MS Flight Simulator configuration file. To do so:
1. Do a search on your hard drive for the file "fs2000.cfg" or look for it in the main FS-2000 folder.
2. Open the file in Notepad and find the following entry:
[APL]
CACHE_WAV_FILES=1
CHANGE THE "1" to a "0"
3. Save the file and restart Flight Simulator 2000.
If you still are experiencing lockups then try is go back to the config file change the =0 to =1 run the program once. Click a few things within the interface and then exit the program After you have done that, go back to the fs2000.cfg config file again and change it back to =0
Hoffe es hilft, und nochmal: Fast alle Fragen lassen sich unter
