AD print question

Hallo Leute,

Sorry my German is realy bad, but I've made the AD Print and connect a 100 kohm potmeter to it, when i'm turnining the potmeter nothing happens.
Investigation of the schema and the print layout shows that on the schema only 2 47 microfarad elco's are used and on the layout 3
Anybody
Greetings from Jan 737:confused:

Hi Jan,

don't bother about 2 or 3 elkos, that's unimportant. There has been an error in the first schematic, it was corrected later. The R which supplies the yellow led, must be a 180 Ohm type.
Voltage at Pin12 of ADC0838 should be about 2V.

Check that before you do anything else.

Hi Dirk,

Thank you for the quick repley, I will check later.
Both the leds are on is this normal?

Greetings Jan 737.

Dirk,

I've 2.1 V at pin 12 of the ADC0838, but both led's are always on.
Any solutions?

Regards Jan.

Hi ,

That 2.1V is ok. Yellow LED should be always on.
Red LED only, when data is sent.
Have you flashed the correct software into PIC?

PIC Pins 7,8,9,10 must show quick 1/0 changes on scope all the time.
Can you see this ?

Dirk

Dirk

I don't have a scope, only a digital multimeter.
Here is my PIC read.

Hi Jan,
that seems to be ok. Have you done Write Configuration for at least one time?
It tells the PIC, what kind of oscillator (chrystal, RC or ceramic)is installed.
Does the oscillator work ? (Hard to see without scope)
Is transmit pin (100k) high ?

good luck Dirk

Hi Dirk,

How to see of the 100k transmit pin is high without a scope?

I checked the PIC read with the PIC read of Jan Karling and they are complete different, is that normal?

Regards Jan.

Hi Dirk,

After flash another PIC the problem stays, measering pin 12 & 13 gives a 5 volt after set the jumpers to normal:confused: (multimeter)

Hi Jan,

i have compard the first 5 lines with my source code. Your flash is correct. If any further byte was different, the read after write check would have seen that.
Sorry, either you get a scope or you have to check carefully any line on pcb.

regards Dirk
