Gibt es eigentlich schon irgendwelche News die die Veröffentlichung der neuen Squawkbox betreffen ?

nach derzeitigem Stand wird man auf der VATSIM Convention vom 17.-20. Juli 2003 in Frankfurt was sehen können - auch wenn es bis dahin mit dem Release noch nicht so weit sein dürfte.

Aufgrund Deiner frage habe ich eben nochmal ins Squawkbox 3.0 Forum geschaut, und siehe da, Joel hat gerade erst einen ausführlichen Überblick über den Stand der Dinge gegeben:

- weather
- voice

I am delaying voice until as late as possible in order to integrate with the new voice technology that if all goes according to plan, is not far off. You may have read some about that on this forum and on the simflight.vatsim newsgroup.

I am delaying weather until the very end because the atmospheric and weather models have been overhauled in Century of Flight and I want to wait until I get my beta copy to see how this might impact the way SB3 handles weather in general.

I will not even venture to guess a release date. As I have mentioned in the past, I have a young family and a very demanding day job, and development on SquawkBox falls further down the list in terms of priorities in my life. That being said, I'm as anxious to see it released as you are. A demo is planned for the VATSIM conference this summer in Frankfurt.

Von Ivao gab es die News ein neues Proggi für die Voice (also Ersatz für RW) Namen hab ich gerade nicht zur Hand.. Wird das auf Vatsim auch eingeführt?

RW hat immer wieder bei diversen Onlinefliegern Aussetzer.

Eine Alternative könnte also durchaus interessant werden !

Hoffnung nicht aufgeben ...

... aber bisher sind alle Tester von Alternativen nach einiger Zeit reumütig zu RW zurückgekehrt.

Du meinst sicher die User und nicht die Flugzeuge, denn letztere haben keinen Einfluß auf RW, es sei denn es handelt sich um Framerates tötende 3rd-Party-Monster :hehe:

nein, Teamspeak wird bei VATSIM (nach derzeitigem Stand) nicht eingeführt werden, denn es gibt eine Reihe von Nachteilen:

* Es gibt ein SDK (also ein Kit für Programmierer) nur für die Sprache Delphi, während die Anwendungen für VATSIM (SB 3.0, ASRC etc.) in C geschrieben sind

* Ohne SDK ist eine Integration in ASRC nicht möglich

* Man geht davon aus, dass TS ca. die doppelte Bandbreite von RW benötigt

* Es ist nicht möglich, Teamspeak in die Sicherheitsstrukturen von VATSIM zu integrieren (Zutrittsrechte zum Channel etc.)

* Die Lizenzfrage bei den Teamspeak-Servern ist fraglich (eventuell in Zukunft Lizenzgebühren)

VATSIM entwickelt eine eigenständige Sprachlösung, die direkt in Squawkbox 3.0 und ASRC enthalten sein wird.
