gta3 problem 2
 

hi
hab mir heute gta3 (endlich) zugelegt, allerdings folgendes problem: gta3 benötigt mindestens 12mb freien grafikspeicher :(
was hats da, bzw. wie kann ich grafikspeicher freischaufeln?

system: amd athlon 900
creative 3dblaster mx420 (64mb)
win2kprof sp2
kerio personal firewall
nav 2002
sb live player 1024
3com nw-karte 10/100

sollt ja bei dem system eigentlich nicht passieren (am 2.rechner (p3800, tnt2 mit 32mb (allerdings w98se) funzts ja auch)

erstmal graka-treiber deinstallieren, dann neu installieren - keine beta-treiber! - in deinem fall würd ich sogar zum überaus stabilen deto 30.82 greifen, alles drüber bringt bei einer mx eh nix.

danach - sollt's immer noch nicht funktionieren - gta nochmal deinstallieren und neu drauf. dann sollt's passen.

funzt leider immer noch nicht, den 30.82 hatte ich eh installiert, hab ihn trotzdem neu installiert und auch das gta3, habs mit dem aktuellen (?) 41.09, funzt leider immer noch nicht

gibts irgendein programm/tool, mit dem man den freien speicher der graka anzeigen kann bzw vielleicht auch freischaufeln (à la freemem)

hab mich umgesehen und das problem dürfte ein häufigeres sein. man empfiehlt erst einmal die hardwarebeschleunigung auf "full" zu stellen. is sie das bei dir ?

offizielles statement:

" If you are receiving an error stating that you need to have a 12meg
video card, and you have a 16meg video card or higher. First make sure your
hardware acceleration is set all the way to 'full'. Also we have found that
some video cards that have what is called an Intergrated ramdac are seeing
some choppy or delayed framerate during gameplay. (Which shows what kind of
ramdac you have in your Dxdiag.)

To check what ramdac you have, Click Start -> Run. Erase whatever is in the
box and type in 'DXDIAG'. Click on the Display tab and on the upper left
hand side it should show you either Internal Ramdac or Intergrated Ramdac.
If nothing is showing for your Dac Type then the gameplay will be choppy.
Reinstalling your drivers or contacting your videocard manufacturer should
fix this problem."

hmm, war bei mir eh alles auf full
daß ich integrated ramdac hab, weiß ich jetzt, was ich ändern soll hab ich nicht verstanden, aber jetzt funzts auf einmal (hat zumindest grad bei einem teststart, mal schauen, obs nach patchinstallation immer noch tut)
