ich hab nen alten 19" hp monitor geschenkt gekriegt mit der bez. A1097C is von 1992 hehe
ich frag mich ob zufällig jemand das modell hat, bzw. weiß wie
man den zum laufen kriegt ?

ich hab gehört der braucht spezille soft bzw. hardware

Der A1097C ist anscheinend ein Festfrequenzmonitor, wurde mit HP 710 Workstations ausgeliefert.
Er ist ausgelegt für 1208 x 1024 @ 72Hz!

Du mußt also genau diese Einstellungen beim Grafiktreiber machen!!

Ich hab diese info aus folgendem news-posing:

No, the "refresh rate" generally refers to the vertical rate, although it is sometimes unclear for interlaced displays whether one is talking about the "field" rate or the "frame" rate. (Not to worry here; all HP workstations run non-interlaced display formats.)
The A1097C (any of the A1097 models, for that matter) is a fixed-frequency (not "multisync") monitor intended to support a display format of 1280 x 1024 at 72 Hz refresh; the horizontal rate is 78.125 kHz.

ich frag mich ob man dafür einen speziellen treiber für den monitor braucht oder ob es genügt auf der bestehenden karte die einstellungen zu ändern..

Wenn Dein Treiber 1208 x 1024 bei genau (!!) 72Hz unterstützt, sollte es funktionieren.

Der Tip von Mixer ist gut. Von einen normalen Monitor installieren und dann den Monitor tauschen. Damit könntest du den Monitor überlisten. Nur wirst du aber erst ab den Zeitpunkt wo der SW. Driver geladen wird, ein Bild haben. Bis dahin geht`s im Blindflug.

Solche Monitore brauchen eine eigene Grsfikkarte die von der HW. die velangte Frequenz bringen kann.
Dann hast du auch im Dos-Mode ein brauchbares Bild.

Auch wenn du so eine Karte auftreiben kannst wirst du an der Qualität des Bildes keine Freude haben. Ist eben von vorgestern. Über moderne Spielen gar nicht zu sprechen.
Ist (war) ein Textbildschirm.

Ein Gedanke kommt mir noch. Win 98 kennt auch einen zweiten Monitor. Habe aber in dieser Richtung keine Erfahrung um dir dabei behilflich zu sein.
