was steckt in einer "winmail.dat" datei
 

hallo,

habe mehrere mails mit dem attachment "winmail.dat" bekommen.

weiß jemand was sich darin verbirgt und wie man das attachment wieder lesen kann? (habe outlook auf meinem rechner)

Die Datei winmail.dat deutet auf einen Fehler hin, der entsteht wenn eine Mail von OL2000 im Rich Text Format (RTF) verschickt wird, das dabei benutzte "TNEF" kann vom Empfänger nicht interpretiert werden.
Versende Deine Mails an diese Empfänger bitte ausschließlich im Nur Text Format.

Microsoft's Knowledge Base states that winmail.dat will appear in a recipients
e-mail whenever a user
attaches a file in Outlook 97 or Outlook 2000 and is configured using Outlook
Rich Text Format.

SOLUTION:
The problem most probably is that Outook is configured to send attachments as
Microsoft Outlook
Rich Text Format instead of Plain Text. Other e-mail clients such as Netscape
and Eudora cannot
handle TNEF format.

To change this setting, click on the Tools pull-down menu and select Options.
Click on Mail Format, then Message Format.
Change format to Plain Text from Microsoft Outlook Rich Text Format.

der tip von microsoft dass man das mailformat auf plain text umstellen soll ist ja wiedermal eine geniale problemlösung.

ich bin aber an der datenwiederherstellung der winmail.dat interessiert. dazu hab ich noch keine hinweise gefunden

Fentun läuft auch unter Win2000 => auch unter XP.
Es ist nur KEIN Programm, dass man einfach startet. Ließ Dir die Anleitung genau durch.
